Our team of experienced clinicians provide compassionate, confidential and tailored care to help you move confidently through every stage of life, and we are here to support you with expert guidance and treatment.
Why exercise matters for women’s health
Exercise is one of the most powerful tools for supporting women’s health. It can help regulate hormones, ease menstrual symptoms, improve bone health, reduce pain and support emotional wellbeing. Our physiotherapists work closely with clients to create individualised programs that are both effective and realistic.
Conditions like Endometriosis and Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) can greatly impact daily life. While these conditions are complex, targeted physiotherapy and exercise can help reduce inflammation, manage pain and improve overall quality of life.
During menopause, women often experience a range of symptoms, including joint pain, fatigue and changes in body composition. Exercise can help alleviate many of these symptoms and support physical and mental health through this transition.
Sharing insights from industry experts
SportsCare has had a range of exciting guest speakers share their expertise on women’s health-related topics recently.
In March, Mel Kovacevic, founder of The Seed Cycle, visited SportsCare to present on the benefits of seed cycling, a natural approach to hormone regulation that uses food as medicine. The process involves consuming 4 key seeds- flax, pumpkin, sunflower, and sesame seeds to support your body’s hormones and bring them into balance. Mel’s session sparked meaningful discussion around the impact of the menstrual cycle on exercise and performance, and how nutrition can work hand-in-hand with movement to improve health outcomes. She was also kind enough to offer a discount code for the SportsCare community to receive 15% off your first order. Simply enter the code ‘SPORTSCARE’ at checkout.

We also had the pleasure of hosting Accredited Practicing Dietician, Lisa Donaldson – otherwise known as The Menopause Dietitian – at our Weston clinic in April. Lisa shared valuable insights on nutrition during perimenopause and menopause, offering practical guidance on how food choices can influence hormone balance, energy levels and overall health. Whilst Lisa is not a member of our SportsCare team, her expertise adds to the broader knowledge we share with our clients to support a whole-health approach.
