Australia’s Begbie out of Olympics with ACL injury

August 2, 2012

Australia’s men’s hockey team has lost a key defender, Graeme Begbie, at the London Olympics to an ACL injury. He injured his ACL playing against India in the lead up to the games. He twisted his knee in the opening 5 minutes of the match and it was a ‘season ender’.

What is the ACL? The anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) is one of the main ligaments stabilising the knee joint.
