At SportsCare, our unwavering commitment has consistently centered on a driving force of delivering holistic, compassionate, and high-quality care to the people of Canberra. Our clients are the heart of what we do, and we’re not just here to provide expert care. We’re also here to build lasting relationships with athletes and give back to local sporting communities.
Our commitment to community clubs
Community clubs are the foundation of sports, providing young athletes with a platform to grow their skills and to potentially transition to semi-professional or professional sport in the future. We recognise the role that these clubs play and are committed to supporting and sponsoring local sports teams throughout Canberra.
We are deeply committed to championing and supporting women in sports, which is why we proudly sponsor and collaborate with numerous sporting organisations that feature all-female teams. Particularly, with alarming statistics that nearly 50% of girls stop playing sport by the age of 17 in Australia.
We believe that a strong community club is a testament to a thriving community, and we’re dedicated to playing our part in their success.
Getting out on the field
One of the main elements of our sponsorship and partnerships with sporting teams is providing the skill set and knowledge of Physiotherapists and Exercise Physiologists throughout the sporting season, helping athletes prepare for games and reducing their risk of injury as they play. Our team works collaboratively with athletes to keep them operating at peak physical condition, often creating specialised exercise plans and working with their coaches to ensure their fitness is at an optimal level at all times.
When our Physiotherapists work with the football players at the Gungahlin United Football Club, they work both on and off the field, offering physiotherapy coverage during gameplay and extending clinical support throughout the season. This includes essential injury rehabilitation, strength and conditioning assistance, and proactive prehabilitation programs aimed at reducing the risk of injuries as the new season approaches. Our goal is to ensure athletes receive continuous care, enabling them to perform at their best.
A national, elite sporting team that SportsCare sponsors is the UC Capitals, one of the most dominant Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) teams in Australia. Since 2018, we have supported the team courtside and in the clinics. Our Physiotherapists accompany the ‘Caps’ as they travel across Australia, offering personalised physiotherapy support tailored to each player’s specific needs. This collaborative approach ensures that individual athletes can operate at their best, contributing effectively to the team’s overall performance throughout the season.
Going beyond the physical
We know that quality care is not just clinical. It involves creating strong relationships and building genuine bonds. When we work with athletes over the sporting seasons, we get to know who they are, what drives their performance, and we start to deeply understand their goals. As partners in their physical journey, having a foundation of trust and understanding is vital in ensuring we can help athletes perform at their best.
When our team attend sporting matches and events, we know that they are attending to support local athletes who will feel confidence from knowing that we are in their corner, uplifting them every step of the way.
At SportsCare, we’re not just allied health professionals. We are people-focused healthcare professionals who care about local clubs, athletes, and creating a lasting impact in our communities.
To ensure your safety and personalised experience, we start every participant’s journey with a quick assessment conducted by our clinicians. This way, we can tailor the classes to meet your individual needs and goals. At SportsCare, we prioritise your wellbeing, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
