Meet Katherine
Katherine is a Sports and Exercise Medicine Physician who has returned to Australia after living and working in New Zealand for 2 years. She and her husband are excited to be coming to Canberra to be close to family. While in New Zealand, Katherine had many medical roles in rugby union, including as the team doctor for the Crusaders Development Team and Canterbury National Provincial Cup Team. She is currently the Team Doctor for the Australian Para Swimming Team and travels domestically and internationally with them. She also currently works in NRL, Super Rugby and Test Match Rugby in various medical roles. Katherine has also worked with national and international level athletes from many sports including cricket, basketball, netball, football, AFL, athletics, paddle sports, weight lifting, karate, gymnastics and winter sports.
In her free time, you can find Katherine and her husband in the outside, often in the water – surfing, swimming, hiking or learning to wing foil.
Katherine consults on all musculoskeletal injuries, encompassing both acute and chronic overuse injuries, as well as medical conditions pertaining to sport. She has a particular interest in both Relative Energy Deficiency and concussion. She has a breadth of experience and is interested in helping all patients, from young to old and elite to weekend warrior, achieve their health and performance goals.
